Arike Ogunbowale scored 17 points and the host Dallas Wings captured their first victory of the season by downing the Atlanta Dream 71-61 on Saturday.
The Wings, who entered the game with an 0-5 mark, were the only WNBA team without a victory. Atlanta opened its season with a four-point win over Dallas but has now lost five straight.
Allisha Gray supplied 16 points and eight rebounds for the Wings, while Theresa Plaisance and Kayla Thornton contributed nine points apiece. Kaela Davis chipped in eight points off the bench.
Elizabeth Williams had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Dream. Tiffany Hayes contributed 15 points, and Alex Bentley added 11 off the bench.
Neither team shot well, as Dallas connected on 35.1 percent of its field-goal attempts and Atlanta made 36.2 percent.
Atlanta emerged from a low-scoring first quarter with a 13-8 lead. The Dream were up 32-28 at halftime, thanks to 12 points from Williams, who made her first four field-goal attempts.
The Dream scored the first four points of the third quarter before the Wings responded with a 17-4 run. Along the way, Ogunbowale tied the score at 40 with a jumper, and Brooke McCarty-Williams tossed in a 3-pointer to give Dallas the lead at 43-40.
Gray then made a jumper to extend the lead to five. Atlanta responded with two baskets before the quarter ended to cut Dallas' lead to 45-44 entering the fourth quarter.
Davis made a layup with 7:13 remaining to give the Wings a 54-47 lead.
After a Brittney Sykes 3-pointer moved the Dream within four points, Dallas put the game away with a 9-2 spurt. Glory Johnson hit a 3-pointer during that stretch and Thornton finished it off with a layup.
