ALBANY — The Albany-Dougherty Kiwanis Club is hosting a golf tournament this Monday at Riverpointe Golf Club off Philema Road in Albany.

Golfers are invited to come out and enjoy breakfast at 7:30 a.m. prior to a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $150 for a two-person team or $75 for an individual player.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Albany-Dougherty Kiwanis Club’s efforts to support charities in Albany and throughout southwest Georgia. Kiwanis International’s mission is improving the world, one child, one community at a time.

Locally, the club supports student Key Clubs at Terrell Academy, Southwest Georgia Home School Association, and Deerfield Windsor School, hosts the annual Student Art Contest in Dougherty and Lee counties, works with the Pritchett-Pippin Dance Recital, sponsors an annual pancake breakfast/5K run, and makes numerous contributions, funding and labor, to organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, Flint River Boy Scouts Council, Helping Hands, and Family Literacy Council, among numerous others.
