On a recent beach trip to Panama City, Fla., this glorious sunset was displayed. It inspired the following:
“Fire on the Mountain”
Oh, sweet summer and its beautiful beach sunsets. I have seen many sunsets, but I couldn’t help but think that this recent one reminded me of a song that I love: “Fire on the Mountain” by The Marshall Tucker Band. The chorus says, “ And there’s fire on the mountain, lightning in the air. Gold in them hills and it’s waiting for me there.” I’ve heard my son, Levi, play and sing it many times. It’s one of my favorites.
As the sun was disappearing below the horizon, a wondrous display was given. The sky was like a piece of artwork. The sunset’s colors gave stunning images of what looked like to me was fire on the mountain and lightning in the air. A mesmerizing moment caught in time that brings back endearing memories.
