So many people who voted for Trump are now suffering “buyer’s remorse.” It’s OK, he is a lame duck on Day 1, and the countdown continues.
If anyone doesn’t know about the health of Georgians, Forbes ranks Georgia last in health care. We’re second-to-last in mental health care. Such an indictment of capitalism run amok. Kemp claims that Georgia is a good place for business, but it’s a terrible place for humans. Expanding Medicaid would give Georgia about $13 billion of federal funds a year, and improve the lives of many.
Is The Patriot back? I thought he ran off with Trailer Trash Tammy?
Let’s call “affordable housing” what it really is: “Taxpayer subsidized” housing. I would propose it to be much more expensive over the long-term considering management costs, maintenance and repair, and reduced tax base. Under socialism it is a right; under a democratic republic, a burden.
Since Mattel has come out with some more inclusive Barbies, when is the “Baby Mama Barbie” coming to the nearest Walmart?
All you doubters will change your tune when the True President takes office and turns this ship of state around. We will retake our place as the most powerful country in the world, and America will truly be great again.
Has the City Commission done anything recently? Do does our mayor really care that Albany streets are basically spring break in Daytona from 7 p.m. on every night? Our families shouldn’t have to share the road with these low-life criminals who don’t care about the law.
Teachers shouldn’t be teaching for the income, they should be teaching for the outcome.
Stand inside any convenience store in Albany and watch almost every customer buy the little cigars. They ream out most of the tobacco and pack in weed to smoke. Is everyone in Albany smoking dope around the clock? That is all you see, all day. Do any of them work? I wonder what the percentage of working-age citizens in Albany are selling weed for a living.
Next to Mr. Fletcher, Mr. Hayslett is the second-smartest columnist at the Herald.
Ever wonder why we almost never hear of someone in a government job being fired, no matter how bad they are at it?
Waffle House takes out fees: 10% service, 10% takeout, 15% tip and 8% tax for a total of 43% on top of moderately high cost of meal. The only thing that exceeds the almost criminal aggregate effect of inflation of price, shrink-flation in quantity and junk-flation in quality is the stupid-flation of consumers to pay it.
“Stand” by Sly Stone: Stand for the things you know are right; It’s the truth that makes them so uptight.
If the city has such a big surplus that they were able to give pay raises to the commissioners and to all the city personnel, why do they have to raise taxes?
