Affinity Physicians for Women announces name change, welcomes Dr. Ana Hernandez

TIFTON — Southwell announced that Affinity Physicians for Women will rebrand as Southwell Physicians for Women as it welcomes Dr. Ana Hernandez to its team of OB/GYN providers.

“Although our name is changing, our commitment to quality care is not,” OB/GYN physician Dr. Shannon Price, who serves as the practice’s medical director, said in a news release. “As Southwell Physicians for Women, we will continue our goal to provide the highest level of quality and compassionate care. Our patients can expect the same great providers at the same location, and we continue to accept the same insurance plans. We are also thrilled that Dr. Hernandez has joined our practice.”

Hernandez, who most recently practiced with Southern OB/GYN in Tifton, earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela School of Medicine in Caracas, Venezuela. She completed OB/GYN residency training at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y., and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She will provide outpatient care at Southwell Physicians for Women as well as inpatient maternity care and gynecological procedures at Tift Regional Medical Center. She is accepting new patients.

In addition to Price and Hernandez, Southwell Physicians for Women’s outpatient care team comprises Drs. Kristin Yates Coleman and Hannah Vickers, as well as nurses Marcy Tankersley, Marlee Morris, Brooke Robbins and, Mendi Stone.

The inpatient OB team includes Dr. Hernandez as well as Drs. Roslyn Banks-Jackson, Kristin Yates Coleman, Robin Dillard and Dwight Hooper; as well as nurses Alison Fitzgerald, Laura Callaway, Cynthia Foster, Amber Guyton, Hillary Midler and, Shakyra Robinson-Prince.

“If a woman hopes to expand her family, prevent pregnancy, seek preventive care, or is dealing with a gynecological issue, our OB/GYN team can help,” Price said. “We offer surgical and nonsurgical care for women throughout all phases of life.”
