Albany Tech instructor named EMS Educator of Year

ALBANY — Albany Technical College EMS Education Instructor Tracie “Rusty” Naylor-Griffin has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Georgia EMS Educator of the Year award.
The award, sponsored by the Georgia EMS Association, was presented during the GEMSA Leadership Conference held at Lake Lanier recently.
Despite Naylor-Griffin’s inability to attend the ceremony in person, the honor recognizes her significant contributions to EMS education at the community, regional and state levels. Her dedication to providing high-quality, professional education for EMS practitioners has set a benchmark for excellence in the field. She is celebrated for her innovative teaching methods, commitment to student mentoring, and significant contributions to the development of the EMS curriculum.
“The Georgia EMS Educator of the Year Award is a testament to Rusty’s unwavering commitment and exceptional skill in EMS education,” Albany Tech officials said in a news release. “It highlights the rigorous nomination criteria, including demonstrating a nominee’s dedication to EMS education excellence, community service, and leadership. The GEMSA Leadership Conference provided an ideal backdrop for the award, featuring sessions aimed at advancing EMS leadership and education, underscoring the importance of such recognitions in the continuous development of EMS professionals.”
Albany Tech officials said they take immense pride in Naylor-Griffin’s achievement, which they say underscores her individual dedication and skill and reaffirms the institution’s commitment to excellence in EMS education.
