ALBANY — Albany officials have announced a weeklong shutdown of a commuter bus route in the city, citing a driver shortage as cause for the shutdown.

In a news release, the city said it will shut down its Blue Line between the hours of 8:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. starting Monday. The shutdown will last throughout the week, and its return is contingent upon driver availability, city officials said.

The city encouraged riders to consider the service interruption in their trip planning.
