Duo sought in motor vehicle theft

ALBANY — The Dougherty County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest involved in a motor vehicle theft.
The incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. That’s when the driver of a black 2015 Mercedes Benz 250 left their vehicle running and unlocked at The Express Lane Food Mart, located at 3000 Sylvester Road.
Shortly after the driver entered the convenience store, two unidentified individuals were seen getting into the car. Albany police officers pursued the vehicle, and the chase ended when the driver lost control and crashed at the intersection of Clark Avenue and Brown Street.
Video surveillance captured images of the individuals, both wearing black hoodies, at the Love’s Travel Stop on Clark and Turner. DCPD released the photos in hopes that members of the public could help identify the persons of interest.
