ALBANY — Got old drugs in the medicine cabinet? Got old electronics and personal documents just taking up space? Got old, unwanted tires just sitting around, becoming breeding grounds for mosquitoes?
Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful will provide an opportunity to get rid of all of these items Saturday during the 20th annual e-recycling event in the parking lot behind the Albany Civic Center. The popular event has placed more than 731 tons of electronics into the recycling arena, which also saves landfill space at the Dougherty County landfill.
Drug collections — which are taken by law enforcement personnel, no questions asked — document shredding and tires will be accepted at no charge. Electronics will be accepted free, with the exception of a hazardous material removal fee, and old TVs will be accepted with a $10 charge and CRT monitors with a $5 charge.
The e-recycling event, which will be conducted from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., will be held rain or shine.
