Photos, info from downtown disasters sought

ALBANY — Citizens in the city of Albany have received an invitation to contribute photos and information illustrating the impact of natural disasters on our downtown. Anyone with personal stories, unique perspectives, or photos related to downtown Albany and the effects of these disasters is asked to share them with city officials by Thursday.
This content will likely be featured in an upcoming Disaster Resilience Toolkit, currently in development as part of the National Park Service Main Street Community Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Program. The initiative is made possible through support from the Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund, administered by the National Park Service.
The toolkit aims to incorporate examples from various Main Streets and downtowns within the network that have encountered disasters and successfully navigated through their consequences.
