CUTHBERT — Scott Curry, president and CEO of First State Bank of Randolph County, was recently appointed to the Rural America and Agriculture Committee of the Independent Community Bankers of America, headquartered in Washington, D.C. Appointment to the national board was finalized at the annual ICBA convention at the World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla.
The first meeting of the Rural America and Agriculture Committee was held at the annual ICBA Policy Summit in Washington. Curry and other members of the Georgia delegation lobbied on Capitol Hill during this time with other independent bankers from across the United States.
As a member of the state’s executive committee of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia board, Curry also has served two consecutive years on the national level. Last year, he served on the Federal Housing Finance Subcommittee of the ICBA. Completing this term, he was then appointed to serve on the ICBA’s Rural America and Agriculture Committee to ensure rural and agricultural banks in the nation have a strong voice in Washington, as well as each members’ home state capitals.
Servicing Randolph and surrounding counties since 1900, First State Bank of Randolph County is one of the oldest continually owned and operated independent banks in the state of Georgia.
