CUTHBERT — The Department of Transportation has announced a brief lane closure on the U.S. Highway 27/State Route 1 crossing in Randolph County near Cuthbert.

The closure, which is set for June 3, is expected to be brief, with the impacted roadway set to re-open June 4. Those dates are subject to change, depending on weather and other factors, DOT officials said in a news release.

A railway infrastructure company plans to remove existing asphalt on the railroad right of way, perform repairs and place new asphalt.

The repairs will require the closure of both southbound lanes at the work site, railroad officials said. Detour routes will be U.S. Highway 82 and State Route 216.
