The APD said in a news release that an assault victim told police Peterson shot her in the leg while driving in her vehicle on the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue. The victim said she and Peterson were arguing in the car, she was shot once in the right leg and the suspect took her to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital before leaving her there.
Peterson was last seen driving the victim’s 2005 white Chevrolet Equinox bearing a drive-out tag. APD said the woman was still in the hospital Wednesday, and the case remains under investigation.
