ALBANY — The Dougherty County Commission has a short list of agenda items to tackle on Monday, but among them are two of a consequential nature: the annual budget and the five-year list of millions of dollars in sales tax projects.

The commission meets at 10 a.m. in Room 101 of the 222 Pine Ave. Albany-Dougherty County Government Center. The public also may view meetings online at https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=dougherty%20county%20georgia%20government.

On Monday, staff is scheduled to present the proposed 2022-2023 spending plan for county government. Commissioners also will discuss the capital spending projects proposed for the special-purpose local-option sales tax.

One big item in the annual budget is employee pay raises, and commissioners are awaiting the results of a pay study before penciling in numbers for a boost in salaries for workers.

“The pay study results would be in by the end of the month or already in and being analyzed by staff,” Commissioner Russell Gray, a member of the Finance Committee, said. “We’re prepared for that, and we’ll fit it in.”
