TIFTON — Ameris Bank made a $200,000 donation last week to Tift Regional Medical Center through the Georgia HEART program.

“We are deeply grateful for this generous contribution,” Tift Regional Health System President and CEO Christopher Dorman said. “We appreciate Ameris Bank for supporting TRMC and our mission to elevate the health of the community.”

The Georgia HEART program, enacted by the Georgia General Assembly, allows a state tax credit for organizations, individuals and married couples who make a financial contribution to a designated rural hospital.

Around 60 hospitals in the state are eligible for the contributions through Georgia HEART. Some of the others in the region are Mitchell County Hospital, Crisp Regional Hospital, Grady General Hospital, Miller County Hospital, Cook Medical Center, Dorminy Medical Center, Irwin County Hospital and Memorial Hospital and Manor.
