ALBANY — Albany Police Department officials say that a man who already is in jail facing a murder charge has also been charged with murder in the death of Justin Jimere King, who was fatally shot on Dec. 11.
Police also continue to ask for the public’s help in locating Jamale Devon Moore, 26, who is wanted in connection to the King homicide.
According to APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks, Cordarrius Clay, 22, was arrested in February and charged with felony murder in the shooting death of Curtis Davis Jr., who was shot and killed on Dec. 17. Clay is now being charged with murder in connection to King’s death, Banks said.
Police have issued an additional warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon against Moore, who already was being being sought by police on a murder warrant in King’s homicide.
“Jamale Devon Moore is wanted for the murder of Justin King,” Banks said in an email Thursday morning. “Additional charges are pending against Moore for weapon and drug charges. This subject should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Police describe Moore as being 6-feet-3 and weighing about 230 pounds. His last known residence was at 2106 Martin Luther King Drive, Apartment E.
King, 24, died after being wounded in the upper body by a gunshot, authorities said. Police went to the 1000 block of East Broad Avenue at 10:51 p.m. on Dec. 11 after a call came in to the 911 center. King was found lying near railroad tracks, about 100 yards from the roadway.
Video showed King leaving Club Legends with a woman before the fatal shooting.
Anyone who spots Moore is asked to contact Albany Area Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS or an APD investigator at (229) 431-2100 or (229) 431-3288. Tips to Crime Stoppers may be left anonymously, and information leading to an arrest can lead to a cash reward.
