Perry mayor sworn in as Georgia Municipal Association president

SAVANNAH — Perry Mayor Randall Walker, has been elected president of the Georgia Municipal Association for 2023-2024. He was sworn in as president at GMA’s annual convention in Savannah.

Walker previously served as first, second and third vice president. GMA officers generally serve in all three vice presidential roles before ascending to the role of president. In addition to his three years of experience as a leader on GMA’s Board of Directors, Walker has previously chaired the Legislative Policy Council and Federal Policy Council.

Serving as officers with Walker are:

♦ Madison Mayor Fred Perriman, first vice president

♦ College Park Mayor Bianca Motley Broom, second vice president

♦ Young Harris Mayor Andrea Gibby, third vice president

♦ Tifton Mayor Julie Smith, immediate past president

The following GMA members were elected to the Board of Directors.

Georgia mayors and councilmembers serve as leaders within GMA. Presidents and vice presidents chair key committees, serve as advocates for GMA’s interests on the state and federal level and help guide GMA initiatives.
