Albany Monroe walks past Mitchell County 16-5

ALBANY – The Monroe Golden Tornadoes walked their way to victory Monday and beat the Mitchell County Eagles 16-5 at Albany State East.

Monroe took advantage of 15 walks from Mitchell County pitching plus got three hits and two RBI from Talen Pugh plus two hits and two RBI from JaBraylen Mulkey. Nehemiah Tinch had a hit, walked three times and scored four runs for the Tornadoes.

Pugh took the win on the mound, pitching three and one-third innings. He allowed three hits and four runs. He walked one and struck out eight. Javion Tinch finished the game on the mound for the Tornadoes.

Paul Davis belted a triple that scored two runs to lead Mitchell County. The Eagles picked up three hits on the day and Davis owned two of those,

Mitchell County starting pitcher Ethan took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.
