TALLAHASSEE – Former Albany resident Rashad Greene, who played football and ran track at Westover High School before transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, has been selected for induction into the Florida State University Athletics Hall of Fame. Greene, who went on to be drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, headlines the 2025 class alongside Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.
The induction ceremony will take place Friday, September 19, in the ballroom of the University Center Club at Florida State. In addition to the formal induction ceremony, the new Hall of Famers will be introduced at the football game against Kent State.
Greene, who starred as a wide receiver for the Seminoles from 2011 to 2014, remains Florida State’s all-time leader in career receptions (270) and receiving yards (3,830). His 99 receptions in 2014 are the most in a single season in FSU history, and his 1,365 receiving yards that year rank second only to College Football Hall of Famer Ron Sellers. Greene also scored 29 touchdowns during his career, the second-most in school history.
A key figure in Florida State’s 2013 National Championship team, Greene recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in both his junior and senior seasons. He posted 15 games with over 100 receiving yards, including a 203-yard performance against Oklahoma State in 2014. In addition, he returned 38 punts for 468 yards and two touchdowns, finishing his career with 4,444 all-purpose yards, the sixth-best total in school history. Greene earned first-team All-ACC honors twice and was a second-team All-American.
Joining Greene in the Hall of Fame class are football star Jameis Winston, baseball All-American Bryan Henry, softball national player of the year Lacey Waldrop, Olympian and nine-time All-American track star Colleen Quigley, NCAA national champion diver Terry Horner, and legendary track and field coach Bob Braman.
Other inductees include Jameis Winston, who led FSU to a national championship and won the Heisman Trophy, and legendary track and field coach Bob Braman, who guided the Seminoles to three NCAA National Championships. Also being honored are Bryan Henry, a standout pitcher for FSU baseball; Lacey Waldrop, the 2014 USA Softball Player of the Year; Colleen Quigley, an Olympic steeplechase competitor; and Terry Horner, a national champion diver.
A limited number of tickets for the induction ceremony will be available for purchase at a later date through the Seminole Boosters.
