LEESBURG — The black team beat the gray team Friday night 24-20 as the Lee County Trojan football team completed spring football practice with an intrasquad game in front of a large crowd at Trojan Field in Leesburg.

“It was a great end to spring practice tonight,” Lee County Head Coach Dean Fabrizio said after the game. “All of the kids got to play and we had a lot of fun. We have some really good football players and we are excited about the upcoming season.”

The Trojans were led on offense by three different quarterbacks, Weston Bryan, Josh Stokes, and Josh Cabatit. Bryan completed 11 of 15 passes for 105 yards.

One of those really good football players Fabrizio mentioned is running back Ousmane Kromah. Kromah will be starting his junior season in high school as one of the top college football recruits in the country. According to 247Sports.com, he is now listed as the number five running back in the country for the class of 2025 and he showed why Friday night.

Kromah scored the game’s first touchdown on the black team’s first possession and later broke a 46-yard run to begin the fourth quarter. His last big run was a 60-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to give the black team the winning score. In all, Kromah rushed 15 times, picked up 187 yards, and scored three touchdowns.

Gray team running back Maurice Briggs showed off his speed as well. Not long after Kromah scored for the black team, Briggs broke through the line and raced 67 yards for the gray team to tie the score 7-7. Briggs, a sophomore, carried the ball six times for 98 yards and a touchdown.

The Trojans used four kickers during the night but Kameron Kirksey had the biggest field goals of the night with a 40-yard field goal and a 30-yard field goal.

Lee County will begin summer workouts on June 5th to prepare for the upcoming football season which will open on August 25th at Trojan Field against Hapeville Charter.
