Lee County tops Dougherty in Fall Ball finale

LEESBURG – The Lee County boys basketball team took home the trophy for the Go Hard SOWEGA Fall basketball league Saturday morning at Lee County High School, defeating Dougherty 64-57 in the championship game.
The game was tied 55-55 late in the second half when Lee County’s Kameron Sanders swished a three-pointer to give the Trojans the lead. After Dougherty turned the ball over, Sanders hit a two-point basket before Braden Moore was fouled on the next Lee County possession. Moore hit both free throws for the seven point win.
Sanders, an Air Force Academy basketball commit, was named the Fall League MVP and Moore was named first team.
Lee County made it to the ?Fall League finals with a win over Westover while Dougherty earned a spot in the finals by beating Calhoun County.
High School basketball practice will begin October 21st under GHSA guidelines.
