WNBA Dream coming to Albany

ATLANTA —The Dream is coming to Albany. Atlanta’s WNBA franchise. the Dream, will play a franchise first preseason game in Albany against the Washington Mystics. It is the first time the team has hosted a preseason game outside of Atlanta. The game will take place May 17 at the Albany Civic Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since they faced off in the last season’s WNBA Semifinals, which the Mystics won in a deciding fifth game. Last year the Dream finished first in the Eastern Conference with a 23-11 record.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online via Ticketmaster.com, over the phone by calling 1 800-653-8000, or in person at the Albany Civic Center Box Office.
The Civic Center, which can hold 8,436 fans for a basketball game, was host to the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament from 1987-1992.
The 2019 season will get underway Friday, May 24 when the Dream host the Dallas Wings at State Farm Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m.
